What does the carpenter do?
Traditionally, the carpenter is the artisan who works with wood, crafting furniture and other objects made from this material, whether for professionals or individuals. He is capable of making furniture, doors and windows for a house, stairs, closets, ceilings, and more.
With the advent of new materials, he now also works with metal, glass, composites, PVC, and so on. His profession has greatly diversified, and he may now possess artistic skills in both interior design and as a designer.

He is ready to create custom-made items according to his clients’ requests, just as he can also establish a catalog of products.
The qualities of a good carpenter
A carpenter is demanding when it comes to quality and listens to his clients to better advise them.
We expect our head carpenters to send our plans and drawings for study to ensure their feasibility. Since we are not trained engineers, the designs that come from our imagination may not always be feasible in terms of actual construction, as well as in terms of stability and long-term durability.
He must be very meticulous about the finishes and ensure that the orders meet our expectations.
For him, respecting the budget is also a priority, along with delivering on time.

How to find a good carpenter?
Even though many carpenters offer their services in their city, it’s not always easy to know which one is reliable and will meet our expectations…
The following tips will help you find a skilled and honest craftsman:
Rely on word of mouth: We place particular importance on the relationships we have with our fellow architects and clients. That’s why we trust the reviews they have about a particular company.
On the other hand, we look at reviews left on forums and social media: satisfied clients always praise their carpenter and recommend them. Those who were disappointed don’t hesitate to share their unfortunate experiences.
Bet on experience: A carpenter or company that has been in business for several years is usually reliable. They have successfully built a clientele and a good reputation. In this field, it’s not always necessary to focus on the level of education of the craftsmen, as most of them have learned on the job and have a level of expertise sometimes higher than someone who might have formal education (the habit doesn’t make the monk).
He creates his work in a workshop or factory and has a catalog. He works with materials other than wood, using references from reliable suppliers (Egger, Konospan…). He answers questions clearly and is able to respond with relevant suggestions.
He proudly shares photos of his work, whether on his website or social media. Make sure these are finished projects and not just 3D renderings.
If his online presence is limited, you should have a conversation with him and ask to see some of his completed projects. You can also request a visit to one of his ongoing or finished projects to assess the quality and finishes of his work.
