FAIDHERBE

Apartment 135 m2

Paris, August 2026

Located in the Faidherbe neighborhood, in the heart of Paris’s 11th arrondissement, this 135-square-meter apartment has been redesigned to unlock the potential of its layout and create living spaces that are more open, bright, and suited to everyday life. The renovation preserves the original features while incorporating a contemporary design.

The living areas flow seamlessly from the kitchen through the dining room to the living room. The open-plan layout allows natural light to flood through, while the herringbone-patterned hardwood floors, moldings, fireplaces, and antique mirrors preserve the space’s Parisian character.

At the heart of the project, the kitchen becomes a space for gathering, centered around a large central island. Walnut, combined with mineral tones and light hues, creates a simple yet warm color palette. The custom woodwork extends into the living room, where a bookshelf designed specifically for the project frames the fireplace and discreetly incorporates the technical equipment.

The palette of materials ensures continuity between the different spaces. Wood, stone, and textiles in natural tones interact with the preserved Haussmann-era elements, striking a balance between heritage and contemporary design.

In the bathroom, brown zellige tiles, light-colored stone, and custom-made wooden furniture create a soothing atmosphere. Built-in niches and storage solutions contribute to a fluid organization of the space, while the weathered finishes highlight the richness of the materials without ever overshadowing the architecture.
