Apartment 60 m2
Paris, march 2025
In the heart of the 6th arrondissement, in the vibrant Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood, this former maid’s quarters has been completely reimagined to welcome a young couple. The 60 m² apartment blends an atypical architectural layout with contemporary aesthetics, combining raw materials and vintage finds.
Entirely painted with limewash from walls to ceiling, it stands out with its cocoon-like ambiance.
Bathed in natural light, the space is organized around cleverly reworked volumes: a mezzanine overlooks the living area and houses a home office, suspended above the lounge.
It is accessible via a staircase designed by Roger Tallon, where the desk platform also serves as a guardrail.
In the living room, under the mezzanine, a sofa faces a set of organic-shaped coffee tables placed on a leopard-print, rug an unapologetic nod to the space’s vintage spirit.
The cherry-lacquered dining table is paired with a custom-made bench along the wall, designed as a laid-back dining nook.
The oak kitchen appears to float between the original beams, with a Taj Mahal granite countertop.
In the sleeping area, the attic-style bedroom is a true haven: carpeted floors, soft and enveloping tones, a bench under the window, and a full-height wardrobe leading into the room.
The bathroom features a mix of bejmat tiles and a custom green quartzite basin, completed with bronze-finish fixtures.
